  1. Terence S. Jones. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful images of Athens. Soooooooooooooo Beautiful, so Romantic. The photos capture the scenes and environment so well. I feel as if I have met the gods of Athens. The impressions are great, vivid and lasting in my mind. Such Beauty, such magnificence. Your photographic skills are impressive. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Very beautiful and lots of variety. Where are the people? I thought Athens was densely populated. Wrong? Also, I don’t know how hard it is, but it would be great if you could insert cutlines?

  3. Gosh, I’ve actually been to Athens and missed soooooo much. Such interesting photos. I don’t know what it is about Greece but of all the places I’ve been to I actually burst into tears when I entered Greece from the viewpoint of a cruise ship. It was awe…some.

  4. Nice pics. I am intrigued by the building with the ruins underneath in the last shot. Is it really as crazy in Greece right now as the US news makes it appear?

  5. Absolutely gorgeous photos! You are so talented!!

Athens is stunning, of course, but I remember there was also a lot of trash on the streets near the areas you shot. I think it shows a lot about your personality and character that you only showed the beautiful CLEAN STREET shots!! 🙂

  6. I like your pictures, you captured both the historical and modern sides of Athens very well.

I don’t really like your use of light though. In some of your pictures there are bright areas which seem to have nothing to do with the subject. They draw my attention away from the main focus of the picture.

  7. Excellent post. This is really a good work. I appreciate your efforts behind that.
    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Athens is such a wonderful city. I loved my entire week traveling through Greece back in 2006. Your photos bring back such wonderful memories. I may have to go back through my files and pull out a few of my own. 🙂

  9. Nice shots.

I notice you’re based in Germany; must be interesting to hear the different attitudes about the current eurozone crisis between citizens of the two countries. I was in Greece last autumn; the Greeks were not best pleased with the Germans then… mind you I can see the Germans point of view.

Personally, I’m just glad we in the UK stayed out of the Euro, though the crisis is inevitably affecting us “second-hand” too. More tough times ahead for the Greeks, though, I think.

    • I’m greek but I live in Germany.. and yes it gets interesting some times. One could say that Greeks are not pleased with Germans & Germans are also not pleased with Greeks. Both are wrong. It’s all about money, politics and the interests of few powerful people.. the citizens are just playing their game unfortunately.

  10. Once in Greece, all five senses are stretched to their limit. It’s something you want to experience again and again. It’s something you wish for everyday, consciously and subconsciously. It’s a feeling you never forget, and you never want to. It’s something that motivates you to continue to live and breathe and feel. It’s what is Greece. It’s what my Country is!

  11. I love Athens and wish I could revisit. Lived there for a little while and the place holds a special place in my heart. You photos are beautiful, thanks for sharing them 🙂

  12. Athens looks truly breathtaking! What’s even better – your photography skills are excellent which really show off your talent! Well done! Oh and congratulations on getting Freshly Pressed!

  13. These are lovely shots. I visited Athens for a couple of days recently, and I loved every minute of it. I wonder if you managed to visit some of the greener Northern suburbs, or the beautiful Southern coastline? Gabriella
