I have been shooting black-and-white in the past a lot. However at some point it wore me out. Black-and-white can be very demanding. Especially in an environment that is not providing enough contrast; both literally and figuratively. Also, black-and-white is often misunderstood as turning a crappy shoot into an artsy one: In color it is porn; in black-and-white it is art. Now, with my move and all the change, I felt that I have grown up enough to venture back into the world of colorless expressionism.
Here is a nice documentary discussing black-and-white, and why it is more about creating, than depicting. “Is the sky really blue when it is rendered black-and-white?”
And here are shots from some of my experiments from the last days.

Great pics, I’ve always had a soft spot for B/W!
When I first started taking pictures, I was shooting black and white and developing the pictures in my darkroom. I was inspired by Ansel Adams.
